The Family Society of Tschokkinen was founded in 1982 in Joensuu, Finland. The first chairman was Kaarlo Tschokkinen from Uimaharju, Finland. Current membership of the Society are 58 members.
The Society's aim is to encourage the study of family history and genealogy. Our name is spelled in several ways: Tschokkinen, Tshokkinen, Tsokkinen, Tšokkinen, and Sokkinen.
Membership shall be open to any person originating from Tschokkinen family or to a person married to a Tschokkinen.
Yearly membership fee is 20 Euros for each 18 year old member, student members 15 euros.
